Canada's
geography
offers a surprising diversity
: from abundant vegetation along
the West Coast of British Columbia, to permanently frozen icey areas in
the North at 70 parallel and endless prairies, mountains, lakes, and
rivers; forests in the South, tundra in the North, boreal forest.
More than 80 % of the Canadian
population lives in the 200 km large strip along the US border, taking
advantage of four seasons with temperatures varying between 35 C in
summer and -30 C in winter.
National Parks
Canada maintains 38 national parks covering a
space of approximately 2 % of its territory. The Banff
Park (Alberta - East of the Rockies) is the oldest
since 1996; and still 1,000 national parks and almost 50 territorial
parks, see
